Benefits of Home Appliances
Home appliances are used multiple times every day by many of us. The benefits of having home appliances may not be apparent unless you were to try living without one. The major benefits of having home appliances are:
Convenient
Home appliances are very convenient because they do not require much effort on the part of the user to function. For example, a microwave can be set to automatically switch off when food is ready for cooking. This minimizes the risk of accidents with appliances that use electricity or gas – such as fire hazards. Additionally, most appliances can be programmed to turn themselves off or switch on at specific times in the day and they will also alert you when there is a problem.
Economical
Home appliances can reduce economic costs for consumers by increasing energy efficiency. For example, refrigerators use freezers which allow food to be frozen for extended periods of time and thus reduces the amount of food that is wasted. Also, some appliances have a more energy efficient setting which saves money on electricity bills.
Safety
Home appliances can be very safe to use because they do not require much effort from the user and most of them cannot cause damage by themselves. The only exceptions are dishwashing machines and ovens.
Health
Most appliances in the home are safe to use and their operation does not need to be monitored constantly by the user to ensure safety. However, some appliances such as ovens and dishwashers do pose a risk if they are used incorrectly or without care. For example, an oven will become very hot when it is switched on so this must be taken into account when operating the appliance.
5 major Home appliances
The major home appliances found in a home are used to carry out certain functions. Some examples of these appliances include refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, washers, dryers and dishwashers. Here is a list of 5 major home appliances with some additional information about each appliance:
1) Refrigerator: Refrigerators are appliances that keep food cold or frozen. They are intended to reduce the rate at which food spoils by keeping it below room temperature.
2) Washer: A washer is a device used for cleaning clothes, bed linens etc. Although there are different types of washing machines, they all consist of an outer tub with an inner tub that spins along an axis. This is usually rotated by a motor-driven drive shaft.
3) Dryer: The clothing in the dryer is heated up to ensure thorough drying and reduced levels of moisture. These are often used after washing clothes in order to reduce or eliminate any germs, bacteria, or odors left in the clothing.
4) Microwave: The microwave oven is a popular kitchen appliance used in cooking food quickly. The appliance emits electromagnetic waves that are focused on the food, which causes its molecules to produce heat. This warms up the food, but does not cook it. This is why microwaved food may feel cool to touch.
5) Dishwasher: A dishwasher is an appliance used for washing dishes by spraying water onto them and scrubbing them with brushes. Although there are some manual dishwashers, most are powered by electricity. The dishwasher can be attached to a kitchen sink or mounted under the counter.
When you think of a major home appliance, it’s most likely a refrigerator or a dishwasher. It’s true that these appliances make our lives much easier and more comfortable. Other appliances in the home include vacuum cleaners, blenders, microwaves, pans and mixers. These are not always considered to be major appliances but they are still very useful for everyone.
